A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, on 18 April 2018, at 22:32 UTC (18:32 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. TESS is NASA’s next exoplanet finder, that will discover new potential planets orbiting bright host stars relatively close to Earth.
